Hi, been searching on Internet and i havent found anything on this topic.
Do you have any clue why my sohal may be bitting my acantastrea?

Maybe, he is searching for food in them, but due it is not its typical bejaviour i'm sure i can do something for it to stop.
Any food recommendations?
It is eating all fauna Marín pellets. And starting to eat new era alga pellets.
What can i do??
Thanks

I had a hippo/blue tang doing the same exact thing. When I put him into my larger tank he stopped picking at them. I have Acans in the larger tank as well.

The tank is 170x65x60 centimetres
I think is acceptable for it.
He only bites some acans. Others aré invisible for him i guess...

I'm feeding him 3 or 4 times a day. Only pellets.
New era algae pelets are a combination of 5 different types of algae specially designed for tangs.

Don,t know what to do. Any recommendations?
When i introduced it in the new tank, he started biting acans for 2 days and them suddenly stopped at least 4 months...
Now he is again on this ugly business...
Thanks for the answers and sorry for my english....

That tank really isn't big enough for that fish. Roughly 175g in a tank that is roughly 5ft long. You need something more in the 8-10ft range and more than twice that water volume. That might be your issue. Like ja1456's hippo that stopped picking when it went into a bigger tank.

Thanks for reply.
Maybe the tank is not big enough i agree but the fish is quite small now..
Its no moré than 7cm long.
probably u aré right.
But even it is feeling stressed why does it bite only some acans??
Why does it only bite acans and no other lps also??
Maybe it is unconfortable in the tank, thats for sure. But why this specialized eating behaviour???
Thanks all answers!!
Its been bitting acans 3 days.. But today has reduced the number of the attacks considerably
again, sorry for my english

My hippo onlu ate at my Acans, and no other LPS. Even with Nori avaliable and 3-4 times daily feeding. I have heard of a few other peoples hippos doing this as well. And mine stopped in the larger tank, but if it does start up again it is out the door.
