A350W Kessil channel a and b , what spectrum?

Hey guys, been having some issues dialing in the color spectrum on my A350W Kessils. Someone told me that the A or channel 1 is 25k not sure if this is true or not but some of my sps's do not like it at all. I believe the b change or 2 is 10k which the seem to love. Long story short i'm barely running the A channel and getting much better polyp extensions regardless the PAR readings.

Anybody have similar experience with the blues on the kessils?

Thanks in advanced,
Brad

I'm pretty sure channel is is spectrum (colour), and channel b is intensity (brightness).

Anyways, what are you trying to accomplish? From what I understand either your light is fairly blue, 20kish, or more white, closer to 10kish.

Each knob is the spectrum and intensity all in one, not until they updated to 360 where you can dial in the spectrum and intensity separately.

What I'm trying to accomplish is making most of my sps's help. For some reason the blue chance some don't like, it was confirmed by a friend that had 3 of the Kessils as well and noticed similar theory. Just trying to see if we're not alone.

Ok, my Kessil is one knob each for spectrum and intensity. I don't experience any issues like you've described.

The more blue your light spectrum the slower your SPS will typically grow. They grow faster closer to 10k, but without that blue spectrum the colours tend to be less desirable to most reefers.

Good to hear there our others growing sps's with Kessils, can you share any pictures of your corals and growth with them?

Sadly I only have 3 corals that have remained in the same place and under the Kessil for a significant amount of time and I don't have any photos of them.

Here is one that started under the Kessil but ended up under a AI hydra after a lighting change.

My display is ~450g I have ~700g for total volume.

My Kessil runs at an 80% intensity and a par (eyeballed) of probably between 14 and 16.

Good lord that is a lot of volume, I'm small potatoes here running 3 A350W on a 20g long with 10g sump LOL. Trying to find tune them with a shallow tank has my scratching my head.

I'm running about 10% blue (channel 1) and 60 percent white/10k (channel 20) any time i increase the blue with or with out decreasing the Blue channel, sps's suffer for some odd reason. Aiming for 300-400 par at the top surface of the water which gets me anywhere from 60-140 par at the sandbed.
