abalone spitting ???

I saw a small abalone spitting white stuff in my tank yesterday and now some of my zoas are closed. I thought he was spawning but now I'm not sure. any advice??? thanks TONY

You have a small abalone? I've never seen small abalones for sale; they are always pretty good size (as they are aquacultured.) The snail likely was spawning. Zoas close for any number of reasons; may not even be related.

he was a hitchhiker and now there are 3 to 4. the biggest is about the size of a hot tamale

Probably a stomatella (spelling). It was spawning, mine do it all the time.

Probably spawn a.k.a. man-sauce. Skimmer should clear that up.
