AC Jr and Control Interface

I was just curious if you need a Control interface at all if you are using and AC JR and a DC8. On the description it says one is needed per system if you are going to be controlling anything but I have read a couple threads that stated all you needed was the AC Jr and the DC8. Thanks

I just hooked up the standard AC Jr. controller and DC 8 and it is controlling everything in my tank fine.
