Gang,
I have worked with Curt on this problem for over two months now (Since April 10) and have not been able to get it to work, so I am hoping the collective wisdom of the smarties on this forum can help me out.
I am having trouble configuring my AC3 Pro to send emails. Under the email setup, I have enabled emails. I have set the to and from addresses. I set the admin user and password to the same username and password I use to retrieve and send emails through my roadrunner account. I set the smtp and pop servers to the same settings as my roadrunner account.
I am behind a Linksys router so I am not sure if that is the problem. I am able to telnet into the AC3 and issue commands. I can ping the AC3. I am also able to use the web-based interface to check programs and settings. So I know the computer is on the local network. I am unsure of how to diagnose the problem further. When I click email test, no email is sent.
I tried the debug commands as Curt recommended and I found the following:
From the serial output:
AquaController>
AquaController> 1 maild
AquaController> mail
AquaController> SMTP: smtp-server.austin.r unkn host
AC3 settings:
The smtp server is set to: smtp-server.austin.rr.com
Gateway: 067.009.185.190
IP: 192.168.001.105
NetMask: 255.255.255.000
DNS: 192.168.001.001
For my router, here are its settings:
IP Address: 67.9.185.190
Subnet Mask: 255.255.240.0
Default Gateway: 67.9.176.1
DNS1: 24.26.193.62
And for my laptop on my network which does have outside internet connectivity:
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.110
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
I asked Curt if my smtp-server address was too long and he said maybe, but I never heard back if this was the case. I find it hard to believe that no other people with cable modems can get this working. I know people have it working, I just can't for the life of me figure out how!
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to get this
working. Leaving my tank without email alarms is pretty stressful, especially considering that this one of the main features I wanted in a tank computer!
