Is anyone currently controlling two separate tanks with completely different parameters with one of these.....just wondering how it was working out....I think when Scott downsizes his tank we're going to give it a go

Kevin is the resident guru so I defer to him. I am pretty sure it can be done as long as you have the PX1000.

yes you can with the px1000 you can run two tanks and you might need the breal out box too ill have to check .. try posting this in the neptune forum youll get a quick reply fer sure

If you want to control heaters separately you will need the PX1000 ($160) to allow you to have a second temp probe. Then you can run up to 4 pH probes or 2 pH and 2 ORP probes.

You may end up running out of amperage available or sockets on the DC8 and then you end up needing another DC8($140).

In that case you might be better off just getting a new ACjr for the second tank with a new DC8 and everything. You wouldn't be able to monitor it over the internet but if you just want basic controls it would be cheaper for you. They come with the control unit, temp probe and DC8. You would need another pH probe if you want to monitor the tank's pH or control a CA reactor.

It's kind of a toss up on which would be more cost effective and it depends on your goals.
If you have more details of what you want I could try to give you more ideas.

I have 2 dc8s so no problem on that one. Maybe I can find a PX1000 and be able to look at 2 tanks from out of town.

Sounds like fun :)
Let me know if you need help hooking it up when the time comes. I like playing with things with electrical wires and saltwater mixed.
