acan lord and blasto help

just got a acan lord and blasto frag at the frag farmers market on sunday and just wanted some tips on care. lighting, placement , and feeding currently i run 3 t5's ati bulbs and reflectors about 6 inches over my 29

IMHO thats not nearly enough lighting on a 29g tank for an acan.

How many watts are the bulbs? Lords are low-light, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Agree with Marrillion. Lords do not like intense light unless they are slowly acclimated to it. I have several colonies on the bottom of my 58 with a 150W 14K and they are off to the side.

what about feeding, do they need to spoon fed ?

I feed them every other day. I alternate cyclopeeze and mysis.

Feed all my LPS once per week a mush of mysis, cyclopeez, sweet zooplankton. I did feed a few times per week but started to see algae blooms from excess nutrients so I scaled it back.

I've found it's easier to take a large-size, no-phospate food like Piscene Energetics mysis shrimp and feed by hand. It minimizes the excess waste to the tank, and the lords/echinatas/etc just love it. I obtained HUGE growth when I did that twice a week.

Chip has the right idea. Your lighting is just fine for those corals
