Acan Lord placement

where would be the best spot for acan lords? I recently picked up a small frag and mounted it near the top of my tank and I noticed through alot of pics that many are puffed up. Mine still looks flat. Could it be its getting too much light? Flow is in the middle.

I have all my acans in the sand bed in my 55gal tank. I have 2x175W MH and 2x96W dual-actinics.

If you just got it it might be still trying to get used to your water. They like Moderate lighting. They can withstand high lighting but IMO they color up better under lower lighting.

What kind of t5's do you have? I would bet that your giving it way too much light

Here is a pic of my tank from above. As you can see I have some of my acans only about 6" below the surface under a 400w 12,000k reeflux halide and 2 96w PCs. They grow faster and have a richer color under the higher lighting but will expand more under lower lighting. As for the new frag I would leave it where you mounted it you'll be fine under them t5's. Hope this helps
