Acan near star polyps

I have an isolated rock with a patch of star polyps growing on it and recently place an Aussie acan on the other side where it appears very happy. If I glue it down with the Acan's sting be able to keep the star polyps at bay and prevent the star polyps from encrusting over it? It seems very happy so I'd like to keep it in that spot of possible.

Nope. I had the same situation you are in. I left for a two week vacation and when I came back, the GSP had drowned the acan and only one polyp was left. They will kill almost everything.
