acans night or day feeding?

I've just started a collection of aussie acans. I been trying to feed them during the day but there tenicales dont really come out as much as during the night. When I try feeding at night they retract there tenicales as soon as the room lights come on. My question to you all is when do you feed and can they be trained to extend there tenicals for feeding like my dendros do? What about a red flashligt for night feeding? thanks Bobby

On mine, the tentacles have always come out whenever there was food nearby. So you could just keep trying, which would train them to open up during the day. But the fish have caught on. So maybe some moonlights would help for feeding at night.

from my experience, the tenticles on the acans come out more at night with no light at all. If I feed during the day they will eat but not as much

I feed at night. You can train them though. My acans tentacles come out as soon as there is food in the water now.

I have a few questions regarding Aussie Arcos, what do you feed them? How offten do you feed them? What type of flow do they like?

Thank you,

They like low to med flow. They will eat anything. Most people feed Mysis shrimp. You can feed them 2-3 times a week and they will be ok. If you want them to grow faster then feed more often. But watch out for nutrients in your tank might cause algae to grow.
