Acclimating anemone?

AFAIK, generally no harmful pathogens come along with any anemones, but it is advised to quarantine, any and all additions to your reef display tank for a minimum of 2 weeks

Is there any special procedures in acclimating an anemone?

I've gotten my two from established tanks, so I have skipped quarantine. I suck.

I go with a minimum of three hours of slow drip acclimation. I use one of those hospital IV line drips that is designed for blood return. It's got a nifty little filter in it and is totally adjustable.

So far two successes in transfers with this drip method, in fact my LTA was so poor off when I got him from a tank teardown I didn't know if he would make it, but the slow acclimation and good tank parameters combined to make him feel good enough to eat the very next day.

FWIW,

I don't understand the long aclimations, like 3 hrs.

My concern in temperature... You can't have a s l o w drip that can maintain any temperature other than room temperature.

Am I wrong in my thinking?

No, I think you're right. I used to do real slow acclimations with BTA's, and have never seen any difference between those and a 1-1.5 hour acclimation. But then I usually test the water the anenome is in, pH, Alk, etc and shorten the closer it is to that of my tank.
Within reason of course, if you were stuck in a small tank with 02 really low, and lots of waste in the air, why exactly does keeping you there for 2-3 hours additional help? Unless there is a big temp or pH difference.

I also drip acclimate everything. But only 1 - 1.5 hours for anemones. (I only go upto three hours for snails and starfish)
