Acclimating Carberryi Anthias

I drip acclimated mine for about 2 hours and then floated the bag for about 20 minutes to equalize the temp. IMO, it really depends on the difference in salinity between your QT and the store's water. The greater the difference, the longer the acclimation period. An easy way around this is to have your QT salinity similar to the store's and then raise it gradually via water changes during the QT period so that it ends up equalling that of your display tank.

I've also found that they do just fine with 2 daily feedings ;)

What is the SG of the transport water and what is the SG of your tank? I personally just equalize SG.

Yea I usually drip normal fish for about an hour or so then float the bag.

I'm not sure what SG of the store is, this will be my first time going to this store. I'll test it before I start acclimating.

I know Big Al's keeps their fish hypo but this is personal business (I think) so I'm not sure if they do the same.

Let's suppose they do keep the fish in hypo, then I should just drip until the SG matches? I keep my DT at 1.025

+1 I actually contacted LA so I would know what the SG would be when I received them. I had my QT tank the same salinity so I just temp acclimated then dumped them in (without the water from the bags though).

also if you are ordering them from the same source, make sure to use prazipro once they start eating. Mine had flukes like no other. I still have one that is struggling with internal parasites that I have to take back out into QT.

Agree with both recommendations.
