Acclimating new fish to your tank

lots of people drip acclimate. I dont. I float the bag for a little bit then pour that into a bowl and add water from my tank using a baster for about an hour. I would do longer if I ever purchased a fish that wasnt so hardy.

I float for about 20 minutes, dump half the water and replace it with mine, wait another 15 minutes or so, then put them in.

I float the bag in my sump and slowly add the water from my tank to the bag using a baster. Then dump half of the water from the bag and continue to add more water. The whole process takes about 1 hour.

float for 20, then every 15 minutes add a cup of tank water to the bag, repeat 4-5 times then set him free in the tank.

I simply float and release. It has worked well for me and I haven't had any problems. If the bag is too big, like my Achilles Tangs' bag, then I open the bag and set in in a salt bucket and add tank water to get it up to temp.
