Acclimating with old tank water?

I'm expecting some new corals and snails in the next couple days. Zoas and a pulsing xenia.
I'm due for a water change and was wondering if I could use the old water from my tank to drip acclimate them.
The old water has 0 Ammonia, 0 Nitrite, 0 Nitrate.
I don't want to use my tank water as I have a 10 gallon and if I remove water from the tank into the bags it will lower my salinity. So to avoid salinity changes in the tank would it be safe to use the old tank water?? TIA

I'm pretty new myself, so maybe some of the more experienced refers will chime in, but I can't think of any problems with doing it that way. That being said, taking water out of your tank shouldn't lower salinity.

I try to keep my water at 1.025-26.. a few weeks ago when I acclimated my fish with water directly out of the tank it brought me down to 1.023.

Yes, use your tank water. You want the new corals to slowly adjust to your system before adding them.

Ohhh ok so I need to replace with the same salinity...but to avoid all this can I use the old water from a water change to acclimate and then put them in the tank?

Just acclimate your new corals with your tank water and then do a small water change the next day or two.

You can use the water if you keep a powerhead or airstone in the container for water movement. Since it has organics in it it needs to be kept moving or it will go bad.

just temp acclimate them and dump them in , no use in dripping corals. I never did and never will :) I do for fish or sensitive inverts but I never lost a coral to this day. If its from my LFS I just do a coral dip and dump it in the tank and place it in the shade for a few days. If it was shipped to me , I temp acclimate them by floating them in the sump for 20-30 min and then coral dip + dump. I think acclimating to light if you have strong lighting is more important.
