I just introduced an achiles tang into my tank. He is eating after 2 day but has started to form Ich. I noticed between his frontal fins above his stomache area the color has gotten lighter. normally his body is a grey/black, it now has a powder blue appearance just above the belly area. any idea what this is? or how if in fact it is a problem.

It could be velvet instead. Doesn't matter treatment is the same. Remove to a quarantine tank and treat. A fresh water dip for 5 min before putting in QT. Treat with Formalin or copper and slowly lower the salinity in the QT to 1.013. The combination of Formalin and low salinity will kill the parasite when the cysts fall off the fish and hatch again and try to reinfect your fish. Parasite can only be killed during the free swimming stage.
