Acro Crabs

Are dangerous the crabs that are in acroporas?....what is their mission?..

There are crabs that can do harm to acros and there are others that are benificial. The bad one will eat polyps off from the acro. The good ones live off from the slime from the acro and can help keep it free from acro pests.

From what I understand Acro crabs have symbiotic relationship with the coral. They receive protection and provide house keeping services. This of course is very simplistic description so hopefully someone with more knowledge can provide something more substantial.

there are predator crabs who can be found in some colonies eating the acro.

My tri-color came with an acro crab, he just showed up suddenly after about 2 months.

This coral, and the frag next to it, are both doing well. Not sure if the crab is helping, but I know he is not hindering.
