Acro parasite

Anyone know what this acro parasite is and how best to treat it? Here is a picture it took of a couple of them attached to an ultimate stag.

They are the frond like thing on the left. They appear to be eating the tissue and the acro is not happy. This one appears to be the only one affected, so I want to nip this in the bud before these things start to spread.

Thanks Zack. They seem to be causing more damage than suggested in the few articles I found. I think I'll cut the acro below the hydroids and try treating the frags.

I had them on my A. exquisita frag and they destroyed it in a few weeks. I broke off the main branch which seemed to be the only place they were located on the frag. There was just a tiny bit of new growth that had encrusted on my LR that survived. This happened last July and now it's starting to take off and is clear of any Zanclea hydroids (I hope). I would cut the frag just below the lowest hydroid you can find before they spread.

You can see a few sticking out. You can see the new growth on the LR, that is all that remained when I broke off the semi-dead branch.

Here is the remaining hydroid free (hopefully) frag today. Sorry for the crappy pic, just took it with my iPhone and my lights are still ramping up.
