I have a green slimer with a few branches growing towards my overflow. I've noticed over the past several months that whenever a branch grows withink about 3/4 inch of the wall or whetver that it's starts to sprout a branch is anoher direction.

That's amazing, i was wondering how does it know that it's close to something and has to turn????

Probably responding to the change in currents. Just give it time, however, as it'll most likely grow onto the glass and encrust away. :)

It's doing very well, quadrupled in size since I got it, just wondering how it knows to branch in another direction...

Here's a pic, this doesnt actually show the branches I'm talking about though...

It's funny, mine do the same.

Do the branches of your SPS get thinner as they grow longer? Mine started w/ thick green branches, but the longer they grow, the thinner they become. Is that normal?

It's a slimer, it slimes when it's agrivated, but it's not green, that was it's description when I bought it but it's really tan. It floresces pretty green under the actinics. Whatever it is I like it...

The branches are thinner at the end but they getter a little thicker as it grows..

So more flow means thicker branches? I got a ton of flow on this thing :)

In some cases, yes. It really depends upon the acro.
