acros growing slowly. causes?

there are lots of beautiful tanks where the acros seem to grow like weeds and others where they grow painfully slowly. what are the reasons for this??. Mine seem to grow on the slow side. My caps grow great. My ca is 450, KH is 9, nitrate 0. phosphate is 0 on salifert which is perhaps misleading. I have a colorimeter on the way. Mag is 1300.00. I use a DIY 2 part and change 25 gal weekly.

I have a 24" deep tank with a 400 watt in the center and 250 watts each on either side spread over 84" in length. along with 108 watt of actinic. s/be enough

no leathers. i have a neon sinularia I got from you :) .. and a few zoas, a frogspawn and a "xenia section" in one corner. I dont think it is lighting. I think the problem might be phosphates although I dont have an algae problem mostly due to my naso. but I get algae in the overflows where the tang cant get. Minimal softies in this tank. I have a lab grade Phosphate tester supposedly shipping today from champion lighting(hurry up champion).

deltec 701 skimmer. dual sump one being a dsb refugium with macro.2x6100 tunxe. 1x6000 tunze. Iwaki 70rlt ... roughly 50x turnover.

sorry. Im at work. 4 lyretail anthias, 1 kole tang, 1 naso tang, 2 green chromis, 1 royal gramma... not a lot in a 240 system

SINULARIA!

one of the guys near me has a digi in a softie tank, and its grown to the size of a silver dollar in 2 years because of the softies. The one in the other tank has been fragged like a hundred times, and is still huge.

Just trying to cover all grounds before making assumptions!

Are you running any phosphate absorbing media?

I would try that, and remove the sinularia if possible.

no phos media. i have a serious Phos tester coming. I will test and see if I need to do that. I have a reactor I can use if I need to.

My growth was slow when my corals were up happy(dirty DSB tank). Got a bigger tank, bigger skimmer, and went BB. My growth was non-existance in the old tank except a birdnest and the same acros are growing around a 3/4" a month in the new tank. I have had a sinularia in the tank the whole time.

One or even a couple small leather won't hurt anything. Introducing a SPS frag into a tank FULL of large leather is when you have a problem.

I'd keep digging. How are your colors. Is you acro browning, lighting.

Your info:Current Tanks: fledging 200 gal reef "work in progress"

How long has the tank been set up?

Do you have pics?

Feed Feed Feed!!!! I feed cyclopeez every 3 days... my growth is 1/4 inch a mo or more depending on species...

I just had to add 2 more seio 1500's for my corals were choking other ones out.
