acrylic scraper

I have a glass scraper that I love to use on my glass tank that has a sharp blade that is in a holder that is glued on my Mag Float that works great. Is their a scaper that I can buy that work like this for acrylic tanks? The issue is my tank is very deep and I can not reach the botton 4 inchs of the tank from the top with may hand very easily. If I do stretch I can not get enough leverage on the pad to get the hard stuff off. The reason it has built up is I avoid getting close to the sand with Mag Float. The other issue is I hate to keep sticking my hand in the tank and the tank is 10 foot long with a canopy that has o come off every time I clean this area well. For this reason it does not get cleaned often enough.

Thank you

I bought and algae free magnet. I use it with either the pads for it or an original mr clean magic eraser. I don't scrape my acrylic tank

I'll have to try the magic eraser trick. I use a an algae free and a Dobie pad and no scratches. I have not tried to attach my dobie pad to the algae free unit, but that might work for you. Mine is 30" with a 32" stand, I feel your pain! :-)

Which magic erasers are you using? I thought these had some chemicals in them. If not, this might be an option for me also.

I use the Mighty Magnet. They sell an Algae Dozer pad which is a pad with a plastic/rubber(?) acrylic safe blade on it.

I also made DIY polishing pads for the magent cleaner using MicoMesh pads with velcro.

For the hard to reach areas encrusted with coraline I like my Acrylic Algae scraper from Aquarium arts. When it wears down I use a belt sander at work to get a nice new edge.

The best recommendation for Acrylic and coraline algae is to keep up with it.
