Acrylic sourced locally?

I am wanting to set up a sump for my 135 and was wondering if there was a place here in Knoxville that sold sheets of acrylic? I am keeping my eye on craigslist for a decent used 55 gallon along with other sump items but am thinking about building a custom sump to fit underneath my cabinet.

Polymershapes in Knoxville does 4' x 8' sheets, extruded or cast. I got a price from them some time ago when I was thinking of doing an in-wall tank.

Not sure if they offer cutting service or not.

There used to be a place out off Cherry Street. Can't remember the name. I don't know if its still there or not, as it was several years ago that I went there. They do custom cutting and assembly if they are still there.

Go under the interstate and I think you crossed the railroad tracks. It is in a little industrial park on the right.

Whoever you get the acrylic from (if that's your decision) should cut a 4 x 8 sheet for you to specs free of charge. If hey don't I would look for someone else...unless of course you have a tablesaw and don't trust others to cut it right, like me

Does anyone happen to know the height and width of a 55g? Those are my main concerns that it will be to tall and to wide to fit underneath my cabinet.

The one I have is L48"XH21"XD16".

Im good with a 48" length it is the 21" height and 16" width that I'm worried about

Petsmart sells their own brand of tanks (Top Fin) and they have a 50 gallon tank that specs to the same length and width as a 55 but is 2-3" less tall. $130-$140 I think.

I have one that I am about to put into semi-long term storage to use as a sump when I do an in-wall tank in a home. I'm not PLANNING on selling it but if you can't find something to work for you and think mine could we may be able to work something out.


Also, just throwing out there that standard 55 gallon tanks are ~13" wide (deep), not 16". Not saying you're wrong, just that it's not typical. 75Gs are ~18". 48 x 12/13 x 21 is typical.
