I have heard of some issues with using Vortech's on acrylic tanks. what is the reccomended maximum tank thickness, and what should be my concerns?

after seeing a fellow RCers large tank this past weekend I am REEEEALY liking the idea of using Vortech's as opposed to doing a CL on my new system.

I have two in my acrylic tank with no issues. My tank thickness is 3/4 inch where the Vortechs are located.

I originally purchased one non wireless Vortech about a year ago and ran it 12 hours a day at about 90 percent power. I didn’t run it much at 100 percent power but occasionally I did experiment with it. About one month ago I purchased an additional Vortech and this time I went wireless so I also purchased the wireless driver upgrade for my older unit. I have them set them both to reef crest mode with the slave in sync with the master at 100 percent power. My tank is a 450 gallon peninsula / room divider tank with both Vortech on the back wall with the flow going the length of my tank.

I have 3 in mine, also 3/4". They run 24/7 in Reef Crest mode. Two are set to master (one on each end of the tank) and the third is slaved off of one of the masters (and is on the same end as the master pump).

The tank is 6' x 4' x 2'
