Hey guys I've been on this forum for many years watching you guys build and maintain amazing aquariums. I finally convinced the wife to allow me to get back in to the hobby or so I think I have. I like the idea of having a rimless tank and I would like your guys help building my next tank. What are your opinion between those 2 tanks mentioned above? I've also included a picture of the location of where the tank will be going.

Personally I like the dimensions of the Mr. Aqua. Never seen an ADA tank in person, but they have a stellar reputation. If going reef, the Aqua has a nice edge in the ease of aquascaping department. That said, my 30 gal is only 12 deep and there's a lot of coral in there.

Rovster it will be a reef and this my build list so far.
Aquarium build

Tank
Mr Aqua 32: $260

Glass hole overflow kit: $79

Lighting options:
Kessil A360WE Tuna Blue: $399(reach)

http://www.buildmyled.com/20000k-reef-spectrum-xb-series/ $235

T5?

Protein Skimmer
Bubble Magus Curve 5 $210

For lighting and filtration I'm open to other options with your help. I'd like to keep the price within reason.

Are their sumps that come with a built-in reservoir for the RoDi ATO?

Thinking about exact same question right now ;) ... Would love to hear any opinions/experiences from folks who had a chance to play with Mr. Aqua, ADA, both and/or heard/know anything about those.

There is a pretty significant cost differential but as I understand there is also a big(?) quality and clarity difference?

space :)

With ADA you are paying for the brand. Just like with Reef Savvy, or Mercedes, or whatever. I've seen both and both are very nice. The ADA's have a slight edge in terms of refinement, but I would do the Aqua in a heartbeat. In terms of clarity, I thought they both had high clarity. The other thing to consider is at that glass thickness, the advantage of the high clarity glass is not as pronounced as say a 1/2" or 3/4" panel.

For me, I like the Mr Aqua, Lighting I would do either a 4 bulb T5 with a blue reefbrite, or a Radion. Skimmer I think the BM are great, and I would definitely do 1 or 2 MP10s. One thing I've learned in this hobby, is just buy right the first time, LOL!

@rovster - thx, for the info... yes I forgot about the brand penalty ;), and nice web site/photos. I do have a 12/12/12 Mr.Aqua tank but just use it as a planter for 2 mangroves right now - too small for fish/corals. Just regular glass, not the clarity. Side edges are nice but the bottom pane silicone is not very nice - IOW its a bit messy on the inside. On the outside all seams are very nice though. Not sure inside seam/silicone messiness will be visible w/sand but... its just sloppy, and annoying at the very least. ADA tank won't have something like this nor would ELOS.

But... if its not visible when deployed and all other seams are clean and glass clarity w/low iron option is comparable then who cares.

space :)
