Adding a Bluethroat Trigger?

Wondering if this is a good idea. I have a 75 gallon that is home to 2 Black and White Clowns. The tank also has some softies, a couple of blood shrimp and a bunch if snails.

Will the Trigger bother the Clowns? I wont mind if I lose a few inverts but the main focus of the tank is the Clowns and I dont want them to become prisoners in their own home. I really want to add either a Bluethroat or a Tang of some sort. I do know that a 75 gallon is pushing the limit but whatever I get will be small and can be returned in a heartbeat.

Any thoughts?

you might look at a niger trigger instead of a bluethroat if you really want a trigger. the reason i say this is because nigers you can get super duper small.. like dime sized(atleast mine was) either way smallest bluethroat i've ever seen is 3-4"...which already needs a bigger then 75gal tank....triggers are super awesome fish i loved mine so unique..... they need alot of swimming room, very fast very powerful swimmers....i'd be more worried about your clean up crew mine ate my crabs, shrimp and starfish

I had a pair of Blue Throats in my 300 and my percula pair just continued to lay eggs. Now a 75 is pretty small for blue throat since they get good size and on top of that they jump and will consume your inverts.

ive seen very small blue throats come in and i find them to be much better fish than nigers. nigers tend to grow up and be too aggressive towards shrimp or any new fish/inverts added...immediately associating them with food and gobbling them down before you can grab a net to stop them.

blue throats have a much kinder disposition, ignore all inverts and have a great personality and look great in a pair.

I agree that a 75 is pushing it for a bluethroat. I currently have a small one in a 90 that houses a pair of ocellaris and they are laying eggs. He doesnt bother them at all. They are an awesome fish.

I have a bluejaw pair in my 180, 75 is too small for them. If you get a tiny one you should be ok, but only for a short while. My male is 6-7 inches and is the leader of the pack.

I have come to realize that a 75 gallon is just not big enough for one. As bad as I want one I will fight off the urge.

But if I ever get a bigger tank I know what will be #1 on my list.

Thanks for all the replies.
