Adding a true perc to an semi established one...

Hey all. Over the weekend, I bought a pair of true percs and they paired together when they went into the tank. However, I came home today and sadly, the smaller of the pair died. Im not sure what the cause was but it just wasnt eating for two days.

I really like having two clowns in a tank so I was wondering if the second one survives, then can I wait until my lfs gets more true percs in and add him with the one that is already in my tank? Will they get along or in order for them to pair up, they have to be added at simultaneously? Please help. THanks

I heard you should add smaller clowns to an existing clown's tank. Adding a larger one may result in both being a female, which will result in one clown's death.

i would think about why your other clown died. Was his body bitten? how have your water parameters been?

Well at the fish store one was healthy and the other not so well. I thought that if I brought them home I can save them but I wasnt able to. Does anyone else have any thoughts about this? Id really like to add another one. Thx

Same happened to me. I bought the smallest perc I could find and they fought for about a week. Then they paired up. That was almost 2 years ago and they lay eggs regularly now.
