Adding baking soda and driveway heat together?

I have a 1 gal jug that I usually add drive way heat and backing soda to at different times. Tonight I thought wonder what would happened if I add 1/4 a cup to each to the same 1 gallon jug, at the same time. Well found out (really quick) it blow the lid of the jug. :wow: Wow.. Did expect that.

Note: I have not added the jug the tank (350 gallon total system) I was going to check and make sure it was okay before I added but then the dang lid blew off. I now have it under control and of course only 3/4 of gallon now. I guess my question is should I dump the mix out and just do both at two different time, or will it be okay to add it slowly to the tank??

You should NOT mix the two as you found out. I actually didnt expect that to happen but you have to keep the two thing separate. Thats why 2 part doesnt come in 1 bottle

I dose at seperate times no problems.
