What is the best method to add calcium without a reactor. I see many calcium powders for sale. Do you just add these directly to the tank and test he water to see where you parameters are?

Thanks for the help.

I sometimes does Kent Liquid Calcium in my top off water when my lvls are down, but when I do weekly water changes on schedule, i don't need to.

Thanks. WHat levels of calcium do you shoot for and what kind of salt do you use? I currently use instant ocean but have been thinking of switching to reef crystals. Not sure if it is worth the extra money or not

you want calcium at about 400-450 and i think that i really dosent matter what salt you use bettween the two because that is one of the epic battles that is on RC. I used ESV calcium and alk suppliment to get my lvls into target range and now dose kalkwasser to keep them at their current lvl. Also check out the reef chemistry forum to see about home made supplements. regards, Tim
