I have been using your 2 part to maintain by cal and alk at desired levels and have been very happy with it. What I was wondering is if I can add the dow flake directly to the sump without dissolving it in ro water first? If I can is there a rule of thumb for amount to add per 100 gallons to raise cal so many ppm? I'm thinking it might be more convenient than mixing and then adding liquid.

You can add it if you can be assured that it will fully dissolve before getting to the main tank or any other place with delicate organisms that it might land on. I've added MAG flake like that on occasion.
