Is there a way to add blue actinic leds to my jbj nano hqi. I want them to run at same time as my mh. I am trying to get a little more pop in the colors. Thanks in advance
I run my 28g hqi with 150w Radium 20k bulb, and a month ago added 2 Ecoexotic panorama pro royal blue LED strips. I'm happy with the setup, and didn't have to modify the hood much, especially important because I have wrasses.
I've seen a JBJ running those LED's in person and its quite impressive. Guy was running three strips in his cube and paid quite a bit more to have them shipped to Canada(duty+tax=killer up here).
Ocean Aquatics in Vancouver brought them in, however so something to look into in or Vancouver Vancouver.
Here's a pic of the Panorama Pro attached to the inside of the hood. I went for the Pro because it has a lot more light/power and is water resistant so it can be mounted right over the water. I've dropped it in the water too when I was first installing it, and it's working fine. Also doesn't block any of the light from the MH bulb or the moonlight.
No pics of my corals I have taken. But yes I think the Panorama Pro are worth the extra cost. Much more light output for both color and growth, easy to mount in hood, water resistant. The stunner strips seem to be just for color accents.
