Adding new rock to an established tank

Hi, Guys!

Last weekend, I upgraded my 30 gallon tank to a 65 gallon tall. I thought the 45# of live rock in the 30 would be enough since the tanks are the same length, but it definitely isn't since the 65 is SO much taller!

I just ordered 50# of dry base rock. Do I need to cycle the new rock in a tub before putting it into the display or will the fact that there is already so much established rock in the tank going to let me skip that?

I knew in my gut that I should but the impatient devil on my shoulder was telling me to just plop it in!

I will cook it and learn some patience.
