Hey there im new to this forum been on MASA for a couple years but to my problem. My mate has had enough with dealing to what i beleive is bryopsis, so he is pulling his tank down and starting again in a few monthsso i kindly said i would take his corals and a few of his fish that i dont have. His live rock is covered in algaeand have been told via masa not to put it into my tank. There are a few rocks with awsome morphs and some corals with it on the bases, would it be ok to add these to my tank and just scrub the algae off? The other question is with his fish i already have a scopas and blue tang but want to add his yellow tang. It should be fine with the Blue tang but im uncertain about the scopas how would i go about adding the yellow tang. My tank is 6x2x2 if that is any help.

You can try scraping the algae off, but it might return. However, if the corals are nice enough, you may want to take the chance.

To add the tang, I'd rearrange all the live rock in the tank (which should be easy to do as you are adding your friend's live rock). This will help the new tang, as the other two tangs will lose their established territories. However, I'd be prepared to remove the new tang if either of the other tangs bully him.

Good luck!
Joyce
