Adding SPS in bulk

I have a 180g reef with over 220g total water volume, and it's ready for SPS. I am planning to get some SPS. I am thinking about adding around 30 to 40 frags (around 1" to 2") at once. At the moment, I have several fish, 2 favias, 1 zoanthid and 2 mushrooms.

Would this be ok? or would this be a disaster?

Thank you for your suggestion and opinion.

Bio-load wise you should be OK, though my advice is typically to start slower with perhaps 12 frags just to make sure your tank is SPS ready.

Start with 5 frags or so for a month or two and then load up if all is looking better than when you put them in.

Definitely start out with a few first and see how it goes. Even if you have experience keeping SPS, there is still a chance something could be off in the tank.

Your is about the same size as mine. I did all my SPS about 30 fags mostly 2-3 inch size at one shot plus couple small colony though. Color drop by a bit for may be one week and then come back to normal, so you should be fine with that.

keep in mind, some of these frags could take off in a year or so and grow exponentially. in 3 years they could be touching each other. If all 30 take off and grow like crazy the tank could be quite full.
