Advice about Shipping and Insurance

So last Wednesday, I shipped a 19" CPR Aquafuge to someone in Wisconsin. I let him no in full detail that there was a 1" crack under the return, but I assured him that it does not leak. Well he received the package today, and there were two more big cracks on top of the fuge that I know was not there when I shipped b/c I inspected in the light thoroughly. I did purchase insurance, and I shipped through USPS. I don't know what to do now; should he go through insurance? Am I responsible?

actually, anyone can file the claim, and the post office will take the item, but will replace it for what it's worth. If he or you can show proof of what it's worth, the post office claims will take care of it in about 6 weeks. You can ask him to file the claim or you can refund it to him and you file the claim, but you'll need to show USPS the item.

I had some pendants and bulbs that came to me all messed up, brought it to USPS and they took care of it.

Fair warning: last time I filed a claim with the USPS, it took 2 years and about 48 trips to the post office for them to pay on it.

And it was a $3000 laptop!
