Advice needed for my Frogspawn

Hi All,

I have a small frogspawn that is doing great. The issue is when i added it to my system i placed the "stock or foot" of the coral in a hole or crevasse within the live rock that hugged it perfectly. It seems happy because the polyps or tentacles pour out over the hole.

The thing i am wondering and need advice on is - will the frogspawn be able to grow and expand even with its body in the live rock hole? should i move it? any thoughts? hope this makes sense.

i have added a picture so you can see the head of the coral as it pours out over the rock. I added the first picture so that you know what i mean when i say "the coral's stock or foot". I highlighted that area which is plugged into the hole of the live rock. The second picture is what it currently looks like.

thanks for any help and advice.

should be fine, it's just the skeleton, when it get's larger it will branch out, the flesh will harden into skeleton for each head, that way, if you decide to frag it you can snap it on the hard skeleton of one of the branches.

Personally I would have more of the stalk out of the rock as sometimes new heads will sprout out of the sides, but more than likely will be that your head will "split" into two and the others will split etc. Can you put something in the hole so more of the stalk is exposed?

Th stalk will not really grow side sprouts. They appear but the splitting heads shade them so they stop growing.

OP find good a good support hole and keep it in said hole.

I drill large holes in all my liverock for placement of the stalks much like you have done.

I do this professionally and sell coral from my tank, I started with 7 heads and now have close to a thousand.

Your advise is good however, I just don't think OP's stalk is that long yet.
