Advice needed for stressed/sick Foxface

My Foxface appears to be very stressed this last week. Darting back and forth from one side of the tank to the other all day. He also continues to stay dark in color. The top of both pectoral fins are red as well as the joints where the fin is connected to his body. Water perimeters are good and the only change in the tank is that we had to remove our Koran Angel because he got too big for the 85 gallon aquarium. The fox and angel were raised together and are approximately 6 years old. I assume fox misses angel but has anyone experienced a somber fish to this extreme? Does anyone have any advice about his fins? He's being somewhat picky about his food because he is too busy swimming back and forth, but he is still eating.

I have the same issue with my foxface. I am (hopefully) just getting over ich. I treated with hypo, and I am now in the process of raising my salinity. My foxface has the same dark coloring on the top portion of the fish. I am hoping that with improved water quality it will just fade away. Interested if anyone knows what this is.

sounds like a parasitic infection... as to wich one i would need a better pic of the fishes whole body in the first pic you posted his fins appear to be clear so it may not be oddinium or ick maybe flukes??? also his eyes are not cloudy so thats a good sign does the fish still have an appetite???
