advice needed

I have a 6-7 inch DSB 4 years old and i disturbed it by siphoning out really good and did a waterchange. Now 2 weeks later my trates or dark pink more red with salifert. So i'm going to go BB. will i go threw a cycle by adding all new water

do you mean just replacing the volume of sand you lost with water? if so i doubt you'd see anything, doesent seem much different than a water change.
