Advice on breaking in new salt

I setup my tanks and have done all of my water changes with Coralife marine salt. I traded my LFS for several cases of Instant Ocean Reef Crystals. I have read some horror stories here about reefers switching salt brands.

I would like to work this salt in through weekly 10% water chanages. I have enough Coralife salt to go 50/50 for a few weeks if that will help. Any advice on breaking in a new salt will be greatly appreciated.

Well the person with this month's TOTM switches up salts to prevent deficiencies certain brands may have. Your plan sounds good.

IIRC, the problems come up when you perform a massive water change using the new salt mix. At 10% a week, you should be just fine.

Although I have settled on Instant Ocean now, I have never had any problem switching salt, and I tried a lot of them, switching whenever I was ready to try a new salt mix.
