I bought this at a LFS last night for 10 bucks, However even though it look like a nice piece to me it was glued to what looks like a normal rock and not some sort of plug or live rock. This might be way it was so cheap. Is this bad to put in your nano tank as is or does it need taken of this rock and put on something different? My concern is I have never frag anything before and this piece is very small and afraid i might kill it if i tray to remove to put it on something different

Thanks for any insight on this.

well, if the little rock has been in the tank for awhile, its now "live rock."

However, yes, just leave it be. Maybe put this on your substrate and let the candy cane grow a bit and then remove off little rock and glue onto your rock scape.

thanks for the replays and advise guys, Since the little rock look like something out of a river was just making sure it was safe for a reef tank and not cause foreseen weird stuff like an algae outbreak or something since its not a normal rock you would see in reef setup

thanks again
