Advice on New Camera Purchase?

Well, I am selling my Nikon D70 (anyone interested? ;) )

Its just too much camera for me right now.

I am looking for a nice point and shoot that has good macro capabilities as well as overall ease of use.

A few of the cameras I am looking at include:

Panasonic Lumix
Canon Powershot
Sony Cybershot
Nikon Coolpix

Price: $500-$700 (maybe a little more)
Pixels: At least 6 megapixels
Size: Doesnt matter

I will be purchasing from BestBuy (as I have a credit there).

Thanks!

Dude..............

are ya kiddin' me?!?!?

That camera is awesome!

don't please don't please don't....

okay, at least get the D50 :D

It’s not a hard camera to learn and once you lean one of the editing programs you can get some really nice shots. Just take the time to play around with it and shoot lots of pictures! The D-50 is also another really good option. ;)

I've got one of the older cannons power shots and I am fairly happy with it. Also, I have played around with the Sony cyber shots and the macro capabilities seemed to be a little better than the Cannon, yet the cannon was a year or two older. I also bought the girlfriend a Nikon and she really likes it, but I haven’t played around with it at all. Of those three I think any would get the job done, but I’d likely be partial to Nikon or Cannon.

What are you planning to shoot with the camera?

I just purchase dthe D50, though it still may be more camera than youre looking for. The d50 is a stripped version of the d70, a few less manual options. What lenses so you have for it? I may interested in picking up a lens or two. :) Flash?
