Hello everyone
I NEED URGENT ADVISE PLEASE :uhoh3:
Today I was in my LFS picking-up my new Montipora frag that I previously order. Browsing in their tanks I found some "cool hitchhickers" around that I decide to bring them home too. They're A Green Mussel from the genus Perna viridis I believe, then some limpets, collonista snails, couple stometella sp. and a single Elephant Snail (Scutus antipodes).
The mussel are attached into an small rubble rock and the tank were they come from was in very bad shape with all kinds of pest, diceases and hitchhickers that you can imagine.
I'll gonna place this guys on my refugium (Only LR and other inverts like them, there) I need advice on how to Quarantine them, Common sesnse told me that a Fresh water dip is a bad idea, but should I use Flatworm exit or REvive to bath them?
And how about the rock? should I remove the mussel from there to prevent bad things come out of the rock?
My main concern is first keep my system safe, and second How to acclimate these guys.
My friend at the LFS told me to give them a good saltwater bath and placed in my refugium directly. Is that it? I need second opinions please
Of course I match the SG and temperature of the bag with my current system.
And if matters, the Refugium is connected to my display with the sump.
I know that the mussel is a filter feeder but how much light demanding is it? I planning to place it on my reef in a later time, after I'm sure that is healthy and safe to do it. Thank you for any help
