AEFM dip

I know it is already in one of the big AEFW threads but I'm at work and can't sit down long enough to look for it. I have checked for AEFW once by putting the frag in tap water for an hour or so, I know this killed the frag, but it was heading for the trash anyway. I shoke the mess out of it but no AEFW came off. I need to make up a dip that will not kill the coral so I can check more frags to see if this is my current problem.
Thanks in advance

Jerry,

Many have been having luck with Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure. I tried the levamisole HCl dip, but had less than stellar success (killed all the AEFW's(seemingly), but also killed most of my acro's). many have done the same and had no problems with levamisole, but I'm not sure if they were treating individuals or an entire tank's worth of acros... It may have weel been that my Ca and Alk made wild swings. The few times I tested the treatment tank, everything was good, but you know how quick things can get out of hand... I've got TMPCC now, and plan to dip and QT everything (as should have always been the case). I haven't found anything on any new acquisitions, yet, though.

Just to let you know, I got a blue prostrata (may have been an LE?) that was baby blue with reddish polyps and a red with green mouth blasto from you at the Chattanooga frag swap last year around this time. A very small piece of the prostrata made it through the treatments (encrustation), so it may be back to former glory soon:). It had become the envy of many in our reef club. The blasto is adding heads like crazy.

Well I'm glad they made it through the treatment. I have been having a lot of problem lately with my tank, and the millies and prostratas have been taking a beating along with most everything else. I started a thread last week but most seemed to have missed it. It is a pain going from "the man" in my city to the guy thats loosing everything. I have checked for the AEFW but did not find any. I know I have read about the iodine dip stunning them so you can blast them off. I don't even know if I have them, just trying to figure out my tank. I almost wish that I do have them that way I have a direction to go. This not knowing whats wrong is messing with my brain.
I also read some where that locating the TMPCC is almost immpossible right now, is this true?

tmpcc

tmpcc

I use tmpcc at 2 x the dose 15-20 minutes. Works great so far. Also blast the corals with a turkey baster. I have used up to 4x the dose with some bleeching but no losses.
