After all this time......pics of my 29 gallon mixed reef

Well this has been setup for about 2 months now and the rock and sand has been established for over a year. Some of the rock for a couple years.
I didn't take any pics of the build or my sump but got plenty of the display and my corals.

Tank details:
Size: 29 gallon display, 10 gallon sump
Corallife needlewheel 65 gallon skimmer with magdrive 5 return and a koralia 1 (400gph)
approx. 50-55 lbs. live rock
Current USA dual satelite fixture: 1x65 watt daylight and 1x65 actinic.
I am actually ordering a sundial T-5 4x24 watt setup as we speak which I am pretty excited about.

Parameters:
SG: 1.025
Ph: 8.2
Ammo and nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 10 or less (working on getting it down)
Calcium: 420-440
Alk: 9.5-10 dkh
Magnesium: off the charts....

Inhabitants: Nassarius snails, some hermits, a few turbo snails, 2 peppermint shrimp, a fire shrimp, and going for 2 cleaner shrimp. The 2 I got the other day die right when I got them from fosters.

Whenever fosters gets more mccosker's wrasse I will be adding one to the tank as well.

Here is a leather that I got with only 3 branches and about the size of a quarter. In about 4 months its now almost the size of a baseball:

I think this frag is just a neon green indo acan. Haven't really got a positive id but it's been doing real well. Eats every morning.

I have had these for about 8 months they are doing great.

Neon green birds nest about 4 inches wide.

A cool micromussa I picked up with the green favia in the first post. About 20 heads on it.

Another ric which is about the size of a half dollar. I bought it as a green ric it has been changing to orange.

The zoos here I got about 8 months ago as well with 4 polyps on them. I think I am in the 40-50 range now. You can't see in the pic but the whole backside of the rock they are on is covered. They are just about to start growing on the point that comes out in from of them.

I got these from my LFS in not so good condition but so far they are doing great. They are red with blue mouths. (hard to see under the actinic)

Teal zoos:

A nice orange mushroom I picked up for $5. There is a little pea sized one growing on the back side of the plug.

I love star polyps

This acan used to be growing so good but in about a month I have had to dip it twice because of tissue recession. If you hang out in the LPS forums I am sure you have read about that with the acans.

This brain has insane color and I love it but unfortunetly one day after I brought it home it started receding. I got into a good argument with the guy at my LFS and I have decided not to go there anymore. I have over 40 corals in my tank and only this one receeds overnight.......I don't feel like it's my fault....

Looks good. Those zoas aren't AOG - they are either Whammin Watermelon or Eagle Eyes. I can't tell with only actinic lighting.

Ever have any dead spots in your tank? I have a Koralia 3 and a Koralia 1 in my 29G and although I have zero dead spots, I still have one spot that is very low flow.

I do have a flatworm issue which I am in the process of taking care of. They actually just spawned again or whatever you want to call it so it is getting kind of ridiculous. I got some $30 medicine that is supposedly guaranteed to work I just need to get some time for a water change.
Also, about dead spots. In the lower front corner it is a little slow but I have no dead spots. My return comes out the rear right and blows across the whole back (Mag 5) Then I have the Koralia 1 on the left side blowing at the front glass.
I can't complain about my flow as everything is getting sufficient flow and doing well but it is not quite like I would have liked it. I really wish I got a 2 at least. The problem now is I got 3 croceas so I need some more flow. I have a small rio powerhead that I think may do the trick but I can't really find anywhere to put it so I have to figure that out. I am considering a stronger powerhead just in general but I am going to see if I can get the rio in somehwere good. I also have a whole list of things that I need that are potentially more important so that may be kind of at the bottom.

Tank looks good, I think you will be very happy with the upgrade to the sundial T5 fixture.

I've had it on for 2 days....it definitely is a cleaner/brighter light. In some weeks time we will see how the corals are doing.
The only thing I was bummed about was the whole time I was waiting for this light I was under the assumption that it has 30" bulbs....well I was wrong.
All it was was 24" bulbs in a 30" ballast. It fits on my tank great but I was expecting a little more length in the bulb to cover the sides of my tank.
