I added new live sand to my tank and started to grow green algae that had bubbles on the sand bed. I turned off the lights and the bubbles went away and the algae seems to be dying off but can anyone tell me what kind of algae it is and how I can fix it? I also have some new bugs on my glass and walls that I think came from the bag of live sand but im not 100% sure so I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they are good or bad bugs.

Day 1(when it had bubbles):
9

Day 2(seems to be going away):

Ok for some reason I cannot post links on here, even using the websites plugins... i am using tiny pic so if u put "*******" where the "*" are then it should work...

I cant see the pics but it sounds like green cyanobacteria..
Bugs are probably harmless pods..(copepods or amphipods)

How should i treat cyanobacteria and how do I know its not dino?

Dinos arent green...
Siphon it out with a water change then 3 days lights out and repeat every 2 weeks or so can be helpful against cyano..
You can also try chemiclean if you want a chemical method..

Diatoms aren’t green...

Did the bag of live sand have green growing in it when you bought it?
I’ve seen bags of live sand with green growing in them on the shelf at the local fish store.
