I was just examining my tank and i see tons of (and by tons i mean really hundreds it seems like) these little tiny...bugs, i guess i'd call them.

They literally look like little pieces of sand (maybe as big as two pieces of sand) that are moving around. I tried to take a picture, but obviously i couldn't get anything but blurry.

Any ideas???

The pods are food for fish and corals. They also eat detritious and they come with live rock and live sand.

What exactly do the pods do?

edit- and how did they get there?

They just hang out, feed on even smaller pods... :D

The got there probably from Live Rock or Live Sand from an established system.

Recently, I replaced some carbon filter media and saw several "bugs" moving on the outside of the meda. Now I know what they are.

Thats funny GrantMeThePower was worried about something that most of us have spent hours trying to innovate ways to get. I hope I can complain about some granular sized bugs here in a couple weeks
