AHHH agression!

I just got my baby onyx from rods-reef to pair with my exsisting WC "juvi" I let the new one float in the bag for an hour while acclimating. The WC came up to inspect the new one then moved on paying no attention. I put the baby in the tank and for about 5 min there was no problem...then all the sudden the WC started chasing the baby and attacking it really agressivly.

The baby found a safe spot behind the rockwork and is not being attacked as long as he stays there.

The baby is about half the size of my other "juvi". Should I take the little one out to grow out more? Or should I take the WC out for a few weeks till the new one gets use to the tank? OR should I leave them both in the tank?

The agression is alot worse than I expected so I dont think leaving them together is gonna work... I need advice from someone who's had agressive pairing please.

IME A. percula are brutal in their pairing, however as soon as the new comer submits, it is pretty over. But before that happens, wow they are nasty.

So its a coin flip... They may work it out, but if the little will not submit, you maybe just offering up "lunch" instead of mate.

Good news I think.... You are right...boy was the WC brutial to the new one...it took the little one by the tail and shook it. BUT the little one is out now and being ignored by the WC one.

Last time I paired an onyx was back in 03 and the female was in the tank for a year before I put the second one in... they took right to each other...thats why I was so scared this time

Cross your fingers for me that this works out!
