AI Hydra for 55g reef ?

Hello,

I have a 55 gallon mixed reef. I am looking to go LED with the lighting and looking for recommendations from those of you that have experience with LED.

I am seriously considering AIs current Hydra's or waiting on their next release.

I want a fixture I can carry over to a new larger tank which is planned for early next year after we move.

Would a single AI Hydra be enough for my 55 g mixed reef ? 1 fixture 2 fixtures ?

Sorry I normally would have just gone by watts per gallon which apparently no longer applies.

2 would be fine, at high intensities. I have 2 sol blues on sides and 2 hydras in middle on my 250dd(5'x3'x28'').

I am keeping leathers, open brains, chalice, fungia plates, and acropora in this tank, but every time I put in pieces, I use the acclimation stage at 50% redux on 5 days (10% increase a day).

Never had not enough light to keep something to say the least.

The reason I say that is that I just did PAR readings on my Vega fixtures and they drop off substantially as depth increases. More so than most.

I have a 55 mixed reef also and I have 2 Fathom LED Hydras. I love them and the owner is great to work with.
Everything in my tank is growing beautifully. I'm happy that I took the LED jump. :D
