AIO tanks

Hello, I'm interested in setting up a NPS tank in the near future. I still have alot of planning to do, but the one thing I know is I want to keep the tank small so cost of feeding will not be so bad. My main question is, are AIO tanks a good choice or bad choice? I would start with LPS corals to keep feeding on me easy but would like to move to harder corals once I know I can keep them alive. My main concern with a AIO tank is the lack of filtration space, lack of space for skimmer mainly. I have my eye on the nuvo 16g or the ecoxotic 25g, the 25g has a skimmer(not sure how good though). With a small tank water changes would be easy to deal with, but would going with a small AIO tank lead to failure? Any opinions or advice would be great, Thanks stephen
