yes they do work mostly on the smaller ones but they will starve once all aiptasia have been consumed. they seem to be hard to find even if you order them.
Copperband fish and Peppermint shrimp(Lysmata wurdermanni). There are other species of pepperment shrimps that does not eat aiptasia. Copperband will also eat your Fan worms.
