How does one trick this wiley beast to hold still so you can stick a needle in it???

you give up and go buy 'joes juice' turn your powerheads off, blast them, then suck away the dead body parts

I turn off the pumps, mix up a THICK paste with kalk and water, then use a little pipette to smother them. Getting a chunk of it in the nem's mouth before it realizes it's not food is a bonus! The paste sticks to the rockwork even after I turn the pumps back on; I leave it in there, it doesn't seem to hurt anything and dissolves after a day or so with no Aiptasia in sight.

I just squirted boiling water on mine. Never saw them again.

I found a couple one day on my live rock. I took a small piece of rubble rock on my sand bed, loaded one side of it with super glue, and stuck it over the aiptasia. No more aiptasia!
