I live in Alamogordo, and I need help trying to figure out the best way to set up a tank. I need to find out what kind of lights I need and where I can get them without traveling very far. We have 1 lfs here in town and its a bit expensive to buy stuff there. Plus they dont have that many things. They more reptile stuff than fish stuff. I have a 55 gal set up now but I am about to get a 125 or 150 gal aquarium. Does anyone have any ideas of where I could go loo for better stuff than I have right now. I know that the light system on my 55 WILL NOT support any corals except aiptasia. I need help lol. Thank you in advance.

you can always get some parts from hellolights.com and make a hood its that hard. someone in el paso was selling a 6th hood with 3x150 hm not sure what lenght you are looking for?

I found out what size the aquarium is now. its a 120 gal 60"x18"x26". I now have to find a stand and canopy for it lol.

sound like a nice tank. a hood is simple to make if you go that route i could help. this one is for a 4ft tank but give an general idea.

Ha ha Alamogordo has needed help ever since I can remember. I was born there.

I have an HO ballast I think it is GE not too sure though. I also have another ballast somewhere. When I finish moving I will let you know.

I go down every so often as well. PM me your number and I will you mine and next time I am down I will give ya a call.

lol. I got married to native here. I am not gonna get that tank cause the guy wants $300 for it and I found one that is brand new for the same price. I don't found out I am gonna have to wait a while before I can upgrade it also. The tank I have now is looking kinda sad. It is so weird. I used RO/DI water for 4 changes and I am getting algae all over the substrate like I did when I first started this tank. I was using filtered water and the algae started going away. Weird huh. So now I gotta figure out whats going on and fix that before I can get a new tank and start on that one. I do want to make a stand and canopy that are more stable than the one I have now. I dont have a canopy on this one yet. Plus with my sump where it is the hinges on the doors are starting to rust. Its starting to irritate me and its starting to list backwards from where it was. So now I need to fix it lol. Thank you everyone for your help. I am going to look at those plans for the canopy and probably use them on this one some time soon. Also has anyone used the Odyssea 48" pc 2x65w 10000k/actinic on their tanks with out any problems? I have been told by several people to get rid of them cause they were by Jebo and they hate Jebo products. Thanks again
